Shashank R Joshi is a consultant endocrinologist affiliated with leading hospitals in Mumbai, India including the Lilavati and Bhatia Hospitals. He is also a Faculty at the Department of Endocrinology, Grant Medical College; Mumbai. Professor Joshi is Past President of the Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India and the All India Association of Advancement for Researchin Obesity. He is also Chair of the Indian Chapter, American Associationof Clinical Endocrinology (AACE), and President of the Indian Academy of Diabetes and the Indian Academy of Clinical Nutrition. Professor Joshi’s endocrinology research addresses a range of topics, includingclinical nutrition in diabetes, obesity, thyroid disorders, osteoporosis andgrowth. He has authored > 600 research publications in these areas, and is a visiting faculty member at several Indian and international universities. He is the Emeritus Editor of the Journal of the Association of Physicians of India and Consultant Editor of the Indian Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism. Highly respected for his clinical expertise and research studies, Professor Joshi is a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology, the American College of Physicians and the Royal College of Physicians. Recently, he was honoured with the International Clinician Award by the AACE at its 21st Annual Scientific and Clinical Congress in Philadelphia. He is also the President for the Association of Physicians of India (API). He was recently awarded Padmashri Award by Govt. of India.
